Changing the world with one act of kindness

Committees like SRCS are so special. Barefoot day is when the university brings
awareness regarding the less fortunate. Students around campus get to walk
barefoot to emphasise how fortunate we are to have shoes and clothes to wear. To
celebrate barefoot day we wear our respective residence overalls for representation.
Let’s hear from Imani Klopper,HC for SRCS. ’The deeper meaning behind SRCS is
that what you bring to the community to make a difference. You can bring light and
change. Is to have a heart for people and to love them deeply.

We all want to see change.

Little angels is our preschool project, that we as Wag n bietjie received this year. Our projects fall under early child development. Ages range from 0-6 months to six years and it is based in Ikageng. Major needs at the school include new mattresses as the young children are mostly sleeping, the school is going to relocate a new fence is essential along with a new billboard for recognition.
Stationary is also a basic need.

The SRCS committee is fortunate to have in-person interactions this year. During the interactions children are created educational toys and other learning materials are
created. Ideas are shared and collaboration is very tight. The first in-person interaction was a success in which ladies created cognitive development toys in which will children will get to know how to match numbers.

Imani emphasised how the ladies' involvement was exceptional and touching. Many
gathered to sort the sort into different categories, transportation of clothes from the
clubhouse and their support at the amphitheatre for the barefoot competition. ’I really
appreciate all the ladies who walked barefoot and supported me all the way.

Stay tuned as the SRCS has many upcoming events like SRCS WEEK AND CANNED FOOD is also around the corner!

Acts of kindness have the potential to make the world a happier place. Here in Wag n
bietjie we have a style of doing things. Good deeds that contribute to the community
build you as a person. You get reflect back and see what changes you actually
bought to someone’s life
by just thinking of them and donating even some shoes. We
want to be known as ladies who were courageous and powerful. Ladies who made
certain that no one was left behind. Simply having the desire to make a difference in
the world is enough to start your journey. Empower and influence people around to
make a difference. Every effort counts, no matter how small and insignificant it may
seem. Special thanks to Imani Klopper for guiding the residents on the road to
change and each ladies who poured their hearts out.
