Easy and healthy pasta for a Waggie lady

Serves 2 very hungry or otherwise 3 ladies

Utensils:

Microwave

1.5 Liter microwavable bowl/dish

Spoon

Basic recipe ingredients:

150g Whole grain pasta

5ml Oil

900 ml Boiling Water

1 Can of tomatoes with Origanum and basil

2 – 3 Tablespoons of Chutney or 2 teaspoons sugar

Salt and pepper

Add on extras:

Cooked 200g Bacon or 200g Chicken

Half a packet Mushrooms

1 Onion

Other preferable spices include garlic, vegetable and chicken spice

Instructions:

  1. Add the boiling water and the pasta together in your bowl. Add the oil to prevent the pasta from sticking together. Boil for 10 to 15 minutes (depending on your microwave) and stir halfway through.

  2. Drain the pasta and place it in another container to set aside.

  3. Empty the can of tomatoes into your microwavable bowl and add the salt and pepper and any other spices you fancy. Add the chutney or sugar to help with the sour taste tomato can give.

  4. Heat the tomato mix for at least 2 minutes or until hot enough for you.

  5. Add in the extra ingredients, which you prefer, to the tomato mix and heat until hot.

  6. Mix together with the pasta and enjoy.

Notes:

  • The bacon, mushrooms and onions can be prepared in the microwave. You can place it on a plate and heat on high until done or cook it in your microwavable dish.

  • You can add about 50 to 100ml of extra water to the tomato mix to make the sauce thin and saucier.

  • 200g bacon equal one packet of bacon and 200g chicken is about 2 chicken breasts.

  • The recipe can only be used as a guide, so you can play and experiment with ingredients to suit your tastebuds.
